I left Los Cabos, Mexico February 18th, 2011 where it was a glorious +33 degrees, a mere 12 hours later I was welcomed by -33 Edmonton weather. It was a bit of a shock, but so worth it. I LOVE winter weddings, I think many people know that, especially if you follow my work. Also for good reason. They are magical. They are down right stunning. How could they not be? Beautiful lighting, sparkling snow, romantic atmosphere, I love them. I met this wonderful couple last year when I photographed Andrea and Thomas’ wedding. I laughed because that morning of Andrea’s wedding over a year ago, Rachelle asked me if I was available February 19th, 2011. I asked her if she was engaged and she laughed and said no, but she knew it was going to happen, she knew who she was going to marry, and it was only a matter of time. Well she was right. Everything from the ceremony to their images together screamed romance and beauty. The ceremony and reception were held at the Hotel MacDonald and it fit the couple so well. From the tears we all shared at the ceremony, to braving the cold to embrace Rachelle’s second love of her life, figure skating; we did it all. It was so nice to be apart of your wedding Kyle and Rachelle, thank you so much. Enjoy Jamaica, have a Red Stripe for me.
