Winter weddings seem oh so taboo – but why!? I love them. Yes it’s cold – but in the summer, sometimes it’s deathly hot – and also another bonus, no mosquitos in the winter!
I expect so much from my models when they work with me – only because so much time, effort and dollars (yes my own!) go into these. I put them in some of the worst conditions you can imagine, for example, this shoot it was SO cold with the windchill. Poor Biance froze, and I just kept saying ‘Oh think of somewhere warm, now relax your shoulders! Okay look into the wind, you’re a fairy!”. But Bianca, I can’t say enough good things about you. Thank you for all you did that day and you completely recharged my photography batteries. You’re beautiful. I loved this whole shoot, including the beautiful custom made gown by Edmonton’s Finest – Trisha Pasnak. Yes – she drafted the pattern and made this entire gown – PLUS she’s local. Go check out her show at Western Canadian Fashion Week. I’m so excited to be sitting in the audience for that!
And not to mention, the always beautiful florals, and stunning headpiece, provided by Jennifer from Akiko Floral Artistry. If you’re like me, you’re watching the snow fall outside. I hope this shoot showcases a bit to everyone that winter can be beautiful. Don’t limit when you have your wedding. The icing on the cake, was the beautiful makeup by Miss Diane Makeup Artistry and hair by Shauna Wheeler with Anela Salon.
