For Brandy and Kevin’s trash the dress, or bridal session, I wanted to do something DIFFERENT. Granted I love shooting with the water, it’s always beautiful – but this couple…they’re adventurous, and I wanted to go somewhere that not many others have done photos. Where literally other tourists would photograph Brandy because she wasn’t the ‘normal’ sight. So introducing Valladoid, Mexico. About 3 hours inland from Cancun. We went into a beautiful old colonial city, and were fortunate enough to shoot at 400 year old cathedral. Trust me…this city reminded me of Cuba, Mexico and Europe rolled into one. I LOVED the old door ways – it was just so unique! It wasn’t just a beach, just another cenote, it was TRUE Mexico. Where literally they did not even take American dollars, that’s when I knew I had entered an area that was rich with culture and a true Mexican vibe.
A big shout out and thank you to my Mexican family, and adoptive Mexican Dad, Javier. You’ve made my photography experiences in Mexico amazing!!!
Brandy and Kevin, THANK YOU for trusting me on this one, and absolutely ROCKING this session. You ignored all the on-lookers (and trust me we built up a crowd). You sat in a car for 3 hours, jammed in eating only the snacks we could afford with pesos. It was scorching hot that day, but you know what? I absolutely LOVE this session. My inspiration, and not sure if anyone else will see it, is “Romeo and Juliet”. Brandy and Kevin met while working for rival marketing firms, but even ‘star crossed lovers’ can’t be separated!
